Abstract

The method of electronic microscopy is used to investigate morphology of the polymer blends containing polyethylene of low density (LDPE)/polyamide-6 (PA-6) in 75 %/25 % proportion with emulsifier and compatibilizer additives. Histograms of the PA-6 particles size, obtained at statistical analysis of the blend microphotographs are described using the model of aggregation, constructed within thermodynamics of irreversible processes. It is established that at the components blending the PA-6 particles are dispersingin the LDPE phase and subsequently coalescence. The influence of the quantity of both compatibilizer and emulsifier entered into the blend and on the mean size of the PA-6 particles and on the mechanical properties of the blends is revealed.
