Abstract
Gradient-index optical waveguides have been made in photo-thermo-refractive glasses by effusion and ion-exchange within different thermal and time conditions. Refractive-index profiles have been calculated. Previous radiation and thermal treatment effect on waveguide characteristics has been investigated.
