Abstract

Capabilities of diffuse optical spectroscopy for noninvasive assessing of parameters changing of oxygenation in experimental tumors under its induced modification have been demonstrated. Using this method, the alterations of distribution of oxygenated hemoglobin, deoxygenated hemoglobin, and blood oxygen saturation are shown under the influence of pentoxifyllin – the agent for enhancing the microcirculatory perfusion. Increase of oxyhemoglobin content, characterizing oxygen delivery to tissues, as well as decrease of deoxyhemoglobin concentration, characterizing tissues oxygen consumption, caused recovery of blood oxygen saturation level in the experimental tumor zone.
