The article deals with a methodical review of nonlinear equations derivation describing the interactions between
laser pulses and two-level atoms system and having optical solitons as equations solutions. Propagation of
resonant and quasi-resonant envelope solitons and few-cycle pulses solitons with the temporal duration from
nanoseconds to femtoseconds are considered. This review is intended for students acquainted with general physics, post-graduate students and scientists specializing in different areas of modern physics.
