Abstract

The article contains formation problems of the optical industry in pre-revolutionary Russia. Principal difficulties of this industry development are investigated. State policy features in this area, dependence of national development from local needs in optical devices are stated. The article is aimed for everyone who is interested in history of national optical production and related social processes.
